THE LOST SHEEP

Luke 15:4–6

He leaves the ninety-nine for the one.

The Lost Sheep captures the moment after the searching is over. The shepherd carries the lamb home across his shoulders — not in anger, but with tenderness. What was lost has been found.

Christ's parable is among the simplest in Scripture, yet its message is profound. No life is insignificant. No distance is too great. No one is beyond being sought.

The work places that relationship at its heart. The rugged figure of the shepherd, the vulnerability of the lamb and the warmth breaking across the landscape create a scene of protection, relief and quiet joy. Its restrained earth tones, soft distant light and painterly detail give the piece the timeless character of an Old Master work while remaining unmistakably Siloam.

Displayed in the home, The Lost Sheep carries a deeply personal message: you are known, you are sought, and you are worth finding.

“And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.”
Luke 15:5
